We are excited to invite you to an adventure to support our mission, The Arc’s Amazing Race!
For over 70 years, The Arc of Calhoun County has been a proud part of this community, working to ensure inclusion for people with disabilities wherever they live. This spring, we’re taking that mission to the streets with our first-ever Amazing Race Fundraiser on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
"We wanted to plan a fundraiser that was fun and family friendly and that brought people together in accessible public spaces," said Clare Tanner, our Executive Director. "A side benefit of holding this event in multiple locations across the city is the visibility it can bring to our vision of having an inclusive community."
Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or are new to the area, this race is a chance to visit some gems in Battle Creek that you might not have seen in a while, or ever!
What you can expect at The Arc's Amazing Race
Teams should be made up of at least three people, and one person will need to have a car. You’ll navigate through the heart of Battle Creek, solving clues that lead you to local attractions and businesses.
“Teams can expect to put their mental muscle, building skills, and maybe even their vocal cords to the test as they travel to some unique landmarks throughout the city,” said Lisa Wolf, our Business Manager. “Along the way, they might encounter horses, balloons, marshmallows, soccer balls, and possibly have to make a human pyramid.”
Why you should join The Arc's Amazing Race
This event is going to be a blast, but we also have a very important reason behind the race. The Arc provides vital services to those in our community with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Our services include Skill Building, Employment Services, Special Education Advocacy, Alternatives to Guardianship Counseling, and more. We are committed to providing these services to everyone who needs them, and funds raised from this event will help ensure we can continue to provide these needed services to our community.
“We want people to have fun, experience the joy of knowing their contributions support a great mission and vision, learn a little about how The Arc advances our mission, and maybe visit a few places in town they haven’t been to in a while,” said Tanner.
