You're invited to our 2025 Annual Event is coming up on Friday, September 26 from 5:30pm to 8:30 pm at te Kool Family Community Center in Battle Creek!
The Eras of the Disability Rights Movement
This year’s event will celebrate the milestones of disability rights throughout time. You will be invited to sip a “Time Traveler Cocktail” and visit stations representing different eras of the disability rights movement. Each station will have information, interactive activities, and something to take home. You will receive a “Time Traveler Passport” to be stamped at each station and you'll have the chance to win a prize for visiting every station!
“The annual event is an opportunity to raise funds for The Arc, but also to create community connections and welcome new members,” said our Executive Director, Clare Tanner. “We hope people have a wonderful evening and leave with a sense of community, empowerment, hope, and opportunity!”
Our Vision for 2026 and beyond
The Annual Event helps to raise funds to continue the work of promoting inclusion and disability rights in our community. Looking forward, we will keep focusing on helping people with IDD be self-determined and independent. “It’s in our DNA to foster connections so people and organizations can come together to address our community’s needs collectively,” Clare said. “All of our services are aimed at ensuring people with IDD are connected to our larger community, whether that be through their schools, their jobs, or volunteering in the community.”

Tickets to this year’s annual event are $75 for the general public and $65 for members. Individuals who want to support The Arc, but are unable to come are encouraged to purchase a ticket for someone with a disability who would otherwise be unable to come. Sponsorships are
still available at Gold ($1000), Silver ($500), and Bronze ($250) levels.
